Background History
Background History of The School Government Technical High School (Hpa-an) was established as a Technical High School on September 1, 1993, then renamed as Government Technical Institute on September 16, 1995, and was upgraded to Government Technical College on October 22, 2001, and as Technological University on August 11, 2008. It was opened as Governments Technical High School on may 5, 2009.
Government Technical High School (Hpa-an) offers five major courses: Building Technology, Electronic Technology, Electrical Technology, Auto Mechanics Technology and Machining Technology, as well as short-term training in collaboration with international organization.
Location of the School
Government Technical High School(Hpa-an) is located about 3 miles south of Hpa-an, Kayin State, Republic of the Union of Myanmar; next to the Technological University (Hpa-an), opposite the Agricultural Institute (Zwekapin); and near Ye Thar village.
Future Opportunities After Graduation
Those who have graduated from Government Technical High Schools will be able to work in factories, start their own businesses with skills, and work in government departments. Local and Foreign companies have also linked up with the schools for their jobs. The outstanding students can join Government Technical Institutes.
School Support and Services
Regular Two-year students have been paid a monthly stipend of 30000 kyats during the academic year. 2000 kyats per day during the course and daily allowance of 3000 kyats per person during the internship have been provided for short term trainees. Complete teaching aids have been supplied to the teachers. In addition to local training, teachers have been sent to colleges in Thailand during the summer holidays for three months with the support of ADRA Myanmar for TOT courses. It has also been offering advanced post graduate courses.
